Sadio Mane agrees to join Al-Nassr to play with Ronaldo

Just one year after leaving Liverpool, Sadio Mane is reportedly in negotiations to join Al-Nassr. This news comes from the French publication L’Equipe.

The 31-year-old forward moved to Bayern Munich from Liverpool in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee of £35 million. Sadio Mane has committed to the club for the next three years, until 2025. However, the striker did not make much of an impression because he only scored seven goals in the Bundesliga despite making twenty-five appearances.

In addition to his chronic injury problems, Mane received a suspension from Bayern Munich in April for hitting a teammate, Leroy Sane, following Bayern’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League. Earlier this month, Mane’s coach at Bayern, Thomas Tuchel, was similarly critical of his performance, claiming that “Mane fell short of expectations” about his tenure at the club.

According to L’Equipe, Mane has reached an agreement in principle with Al-Nassr, but the agreement “has not been fully signed yet”. However, this is a very likely possibility, especially when the striker is facing an uncertain future at Bayern.

If he agrees to go to Al-Nassr, Mane will become teammates with Ronaldo, the Saudi Pro League runner-up last season. CR7 joined the Middle East team from Man United in December last year. Al-Nassr is constantly recruiting some big names this summer. They have signed Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan, Seko Fofana from Lens and Alex Telles from MU.

If successful, Mane will be the latest big-name player to move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, along with Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Edouard Mendy, Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic…

Here, the Senegalese player can also reunite with many of his Liverpool teammates who have won the Premier League and Champions League such as striker Firmino or the upcoming, midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
