The French luxury brand Dior is reintroducing its floating retreat concept for a second year! The Dior Spa Cruise, which coincides with the beginning of haute couture week in Paris, takes passengers on a two-hour cruise along the Seine while they partake in various wellness activities.
The luxurious yacht has treatment rooms for visitors, who are offered specialized wellness options throughout the voyage. The opulent experience is capped off by the opportunity to take in the sights along the Seine while embracing complete relaxation.
Here’s what you need to know about the cruise options.
The Dior Spa Cruise’s opulent amenitiesThe Dior Spa Cruise offers two kinds of luxurious experiences: the treatment cruise and the wellness cruise. According to Travel and Leisure Asia, both cruises are two hours long, with the first hour devoted to specific wellness treatment components and the second hour dedicated to relaxation and leisure activities.
According to WWD, the treatment cruise includes an hour-long facial or body treatment with objectives such as detoxification, anti-aging, or relaxation. Following the treatment, there is a one-hour rest on the terrace. Guests can access the pool and terraces while viewing the sights of Paris from this location.
The wellness cruise has a personalized daily itinerary. WWD reports that after one hour of relaxation on deck, passengers can spend the second hour participating in Pilates flow, respirology, postural stretching, mobility, or detox flow.
There are four body massages and three facial treatments available to guests, too.
Recognizing the expensesThe treatment cruise will cost approximately $740, while the wellness cruise will cost approximately $310. Guests may also combine programs to create a four-hour experience.
Travelling in luxury
The name of the Dior-branded yacht is Stunning Excellence. According to WWD, the renovated interior features the luxury brand’s signature toile de jouy pattern in shades of blue and beige. Additionally, canework was added to the yacht.
The upper terrace is made of teak and measures 1,290 square feet. There is an outdoor sports terrace, a juice bar, and a swimming pool. There are lounge chairs on the terrace that provide a panoramic view of Notre-Dame, the Grand Palais, and the Musée d’Orsay.
There is a reception area below deck stocked with Dior skin care products and fragrances. Four single accommodations and one double cabin with a lounge are available.
The business of designer cruises
From 3 to 14 July, the Dior yacht will be docked at Port Henri IV near Île Saint-Louis. The beginning date coincides with the beginning of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Dior inaugurated its first-ever spa cruise on the Seine in Paris last year. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the concept of a floating spa was inspired by the 19th-century bains de la samaritaine, or floating bathtubs. These were located alongside the Pont-Neuf on the banks of the Seine and are believed to have been the earliest spas.
In the French capital, Dior has two spas: one at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée and another at the Cheval Blanc. Cheval Blanc is responsible for Dior’s floating resorts, and the spa’s website states that it provides “holistic retreats for absolute mental, physical, and emotional well-being”
