During the NBA All-Star Game, LeBron James made it a point to stop what he was doing and shake hands with a few notable guests.

The 38-year-old NBA player went over to say hello to Kobe Bryant’s daughters, who were seated courtside at the event together with their mother Vanessa Bryant. Kobe Bryant is a Lakers legend, and Vanessa Bryant was also there at the event with her children.

Natalia Bryant, who is 19 years old, received a bear hug from James, who also held Bianka Bella, who is 6 years old, while Capri Bella, who is 3 years old, stayed back sheepishly behind Natalia. After that, he took a seat for a photograph with all three daughters, during which Capri climbed up into her older sister’s lap and turned her back to the camera.

The kids, who are Vanessa and the late Lakers star’s daughters together with Gianna, who died with her dad at the age of 13, were present to watch close family friend and teammate Pau Gasol be honored with the 2023 Kobe & Gigi Bryant WNBA Advocacy Award by their mother. Gianna died at the same age as her dad.

“I couldn’t be happier that Pau has been selected to be the recipient of this prize. “Pau has done so much to promote women and girls in sports and cares deeply about spreading a message of equality, which was so important to Kobe and Gianna,” Vanessa, 40, the Chair of the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a positive impact for underserved athletes and boys and girls in sports, said in a statement about the honor. “Pau has done so much to promote women and girls in sports and cares deeply about spreading a message of equality.”

“We are grateful to the WNBA and Pau for continuing to honor Kobe and Gianna in this way,” she continued. “This is a wonderful way to remember them.”
