Of ships and splendor! This summer, Uber’s on-demand, private-charter vessels will sail to Mykonos, where they will provide mesmerizing views of the island

Uber went from a conveyance app to an app that is Uber cool! Welcome to Uber yacht, a Mykonos, Greece-based on-demand yacht charter service. At the third annual Go-GET product event, the ride-hailing company announced the debut of boat travel in the beautiful country of Greece. With an abundance of azure waters and throngs of tourists, Uber has promised to provide a way to reserve a boat directly through the Uber app. Dara Khosrowshahi, the chief executive officer of Uber, stated, “There is nothing better than connecting with family in whatever form that takes for you.” He continued, “That’s why this year we’re unveiling a suite of products that are rooted in connection.”

Beginning in Mykonos, eight individuals will be able to sail around the island. Many more potential locations will be added in the future. As is the case with automobiles, prices will vary depending on the number of stops. The service will be available from mid-June to October, operated by a licensed boat operator. Uber’s general manager for Greece, Sarita Varouch, stated in the Uber Go-Get video. “Uber Boat gives you the ability to plan a day on the water. You can even see reservation details right in the app, making it an ideal way to visit Mykonos and tour around the island.”

Uber has previously provided watercraft options. In 2015, depending on the destination, UberBoat Istanbul offered speedboats for 6 to 8 passengers or families for $20 to $150. In 2019, the identical service was introduced in Mumbai in collaboration with the Maharashtra Maritime Board. The on-demand speedboat service was intended for tourists and natives desiring a more luxurious coastal route.

Uber struck a home run with a one-of-a-kind experience to commemorate the coronation of King Charles in 2023. Three days of Coronation Carriage rides around London’s Dulwich Park were made available between 1 and 4 p.m. Uber stated that Uber Boat in Mykonos differs from the company’s previous offerings because it is not owned by a third party. The service operates more like a private charter than a ferry.
