The Abu Dhabi royal family, known as the Al Nahyan family, owns a huge net worth, richer than both billionaires Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates combined.
In the latest ranking of 2022, the Abu Dhabi Royal Family is ranked 4th among the 5 richest royals in the world. Specifically, the net worth of this royal family is currently about 300 billion USD.
However, according to Bloomberg, this is only an estimate of personal wealth, and determining the total wealth of the Al Nahyan Royal family is almost impossible.
Because in addition to a personal fortune of $ 300 billion, the Abu Dhabi Royal Family also holds the right to manage $ 1,200 billion of national assets without taking into account oil reserves.
One of the most expensive assets of the Al Nahyan family is the $ 472.8 million Qaṣr Al-Waṭan palace, which is the presidential palace of the UAE, located in Abu Dhabi.
The Qaṣr Al-Waṭan Palace is 380,000 square meters, with a facade of white granite and limestone.
Inside the lavish palace is a towering 37-meter-wide dome and chandeliers made of 350,000 crystal pieces.
The Abu Dhabi royal family’s fleet includes eight aircraft, including an Airbus A320-200 and three Boeing 787-9s. The personal collection of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan alone includes a Boeing 747 worth A$660 million ($446 million) and a Boeing 787 worth A$260 million ($175.7 million).
Royal Al Nahyan also owns 3 of the 10 largest yachts in the world – Azzam, Blue and Topaz (now known as A+). The world’s largest superyacht Azzam was built for Sheikh Khalifa. It seats more than 100 people and features a golf practice room, exquisite mother-of-pearl inlays and specially designed chandeliers.
The royal family of Abu Dhabi owns a huge fleet of vehicles, divided between 4 museums in the UAE and Morocco. The personal collection of billionaire Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has more than 700 vehicles, including the world’s largest SUV and a 6.4-meter tall Jeep Willys.
The Al Nahyan family also owns Manchester City football club through the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG). They bought this club for 200 million pounds (about 720 billion VND) and also have an 81% stake in City Football Group (the company that controls many other football clubs in the world).
The family also invested in more tourist attractions, including the Ferrari World amusement park, the Louvre museum in Paris and the Formula 1 race track. Photo: Bloomberg, SCMP.
