Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar is launching a spectacular $3.5 billion development dubbed Ramhan Island in Abu Dhabi. What excited us is that the tycoon has roped in some of the world’s most renowned superyacht designers to breathe life into the interiors of these striking homes. We couldn’t help but agree with the businessman’s reasoning: “There are a lot of great designers in the world, but no one can do the internal detailing of a home better than the designers of superyachts.
They respect to space, they respect to light, they respect the value of every single square meter, but most of all, their minds are trained to think always about luxury. They only build the most luxurious things in the world. So, their detailing is like no normal place or home, nothing like this has ever been seen before. There will be nothing like this ever seen in the UAE or the region.”
The fabulous development is touted to have as many as 1,800 beach villas (ranging from eight different layouts from 2862 square feet to 7539 square feet), 1,000 branded residences, a hotel, and a marina.
We would love to see yachting world greats like Pascale Reymond (Serene megayacht), Espen Oeino (Kismet Yacht), Aileen Rodriguez (Solandge superyacht), or even design genius Philippe Starck showcase their genius in a space that’s not a ship.
Alabbar told Arabian Business, “It’s a rare thing to live on a natural island, complete with a beach – everything being truly from nature, including dolphins, turtles and birds. This is a quality of life that has never been seen before, and it is what we will be delivering – I have been lucky enough to work on some unique projects over the years, but this is something truly special.”
The smallest villas are listed at nearly $2 million, developed through Alabbar’s Eagle Hills development company.
