Deportivo Alaves is reportedly one of three teams interested in signing Real Madrid’s 22-year-old midfielder Antonio Blanco, according to the Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo. Blanco was an integral part of the Alaves club that won promotion to La Liga in the second half of the 2022–23 season while on loan from Real Madrid.

Alaves are in transfer talks with Real Madrid to get midfielder Blanco after seeing him play impressively at the UEFA U-21 European Championship. This was confirmed by Alaves’ sporting director Sergio Fernandez. Los Blancos want to extend Blanco’s contract, but with Jude Bellingham on the roster, competition for midfield slots has heated up.

 

Blanco has conceded that he may not be a starting player for the squad next season and that crucial decisions must be made this summer. It’s in the player’s best interest for Madrid to make a choice at this time, even if it means sending him back to Alaves on loan.
