Tom Brady said he was leaving the NFL (for the second time). This time, the quarterback who has won seven Super Bowls gives us his word that it’s for good. Tom Brady’s seven Super Bowl wins (six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) have made him the best quarterback of all time.

In honor of Brady’s retirement, we wanted to take a look at some of the watches he wore during his career, which included Audemars Piguets, Tag Heuers, and a lot of IWCs.

Before Tom Brady became famous, it was much harder to find pictures of what he wore on his wrists. He did seem to have a thing for Audemars Piguet, though. Brady was seen wearing a rose gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Rubber Clad not long after he won his first Super Bowl, Super Bowl XXVI (36), in 2002.

In 2015, Brady became a brand ambassador for Tag Heuer. During this time, Brady was seen wearing many different Tag Heuer watches, but the Carrera, especially the Limited Edition Tom Brady Carrera Ref. CAR201R.FT6120, seemed to be his favorite.

Brady joined IWC in 2019 after his work with Tag Heuer came to an end. Since then, Brady has often been seen wearing different IWC watches. Tom, for example, was photographed while signing his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wearing an IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner “The Longest Flight.” Since Brady won his seventh Super Bowl in his first year with the Bucs, I guess it was a smart choice.

TOP GUN CHRONOGRAPH OF TOM BRADY

Since he joined IWC, Brady has shown that he prefers the sportier models. This makes sense since he is a professional athlete who is often seen on the golf course wearing a watch. The Top Gun Chronograph Ref. IW389101 is one of the more traditional IWC Pilot Watches that Brady has been seen wearing. This piece is a little on the big side (its diameter is 44.5 mm), and its case is made of black ceramic. “TOP GUN – United States Navy Fighter Weapons School” is written in a beautiful script on the back of the case. Overall, the Top Gun Chronograph is an IWC pilot watch in the classic style. The cost of the item is $8,950 USD.

IWC BIG PILOT REF. IW500922 PIECE UNIQUE TOM BRADY

In 2017, when the Patriots beat the Falcons in Super Bowl LI (51), it was one of the most exciting football games ever played. The Patriots were down 28-3 in the third quarter, but Brady helped them come back and beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. As a fan of the Patriots for as long as I can remember, this is one of the best football games I’ve ever seen. Johann Rupert, Chairman of Richement, which owns IWC, gave Brady a gold Limited Edition Piece Unique (1 of 1) watch to mark the event. The case and dial of this IWC Big Pilot Ref. IW500922 are both made of rose gold. This watch has only been shown in a few photos, and because it is so rare, no price can be given.

“LAKE TAHOE” IS TOM BRADY’S IWC TOP GUN CHRONOGRAPH.

One of our favorite new IWC pieces is a watch we’ve only seen Brady wear in photos but not in person. The IWC Top Gun Chronograph “Lake Tahoe” Ref. IW389105 has a pretty standard chronograph dial, but it stands out with its white ceramic case and white rubber strap. We don’t see many brands try to make watches with white ceramic cases, so we applaud IWC for taking the chance. Even though the Top Gun Lake Tahoe watch is not a limited edition, the company has promised to only make 1,000 of them each year, making it hard to get. The “Lake Tahoe” IWC Top Gun Chronograph costs $10,700 USD.

TOP GUN MOJAVE DESERT TOM BRADY’S IWC BIG PILOT PERPETUAL CALENDAR

One of our favorite watches is Tom’s IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Mojave Desert Ref. IW503004. This watch not only has a unique tan, desert-colored ceramic case, but it also has a perpetual calendar that keeps track of time until the year 2099. We at Wrist Enthusiast love IWC’s pilot watches, but we also like the ceramic watches they’ve made. IWC PORTUGIESER TOURBILLON HAND WOUND SQUELETTE BY TOM BRADY

Tom Brady has been in the news for more than just his retirement. The new movie 80 For Brady also had Brady in it. Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field play four longtime friends who are Patriots fans and fly to Houston to see their hero Tom Brady play in Super Bowl LI (the historic comeback in which the Patriots defeated the Falcons). Brady also plays himself in the movie. Brady showed up on January 31, 2023, wearing the very special IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Hand Wound Squelette Ref. IW546201. This sculpture was made in 2011 as part of a limited run of only 25 pieces. Since Brady likes the brand, it makes sense that he would have one and wear it to such a big event. On the second-hand market, this item is worth more than $100,000 USD.
