In Green Bay, Wisconsin, the New England Patriots showcased their most impressive practice of the summer on Thursday, dominating both sides of the ball and making their presence felt against the Packers.
However, amidst the engaging joint session, there were also some worrisome developments.
Receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury while making an exceptional 45-yard catch from Mac Jones during an early 11-on-11 period. This standout play marked the highlight of Thornton’s summer practices, but he had to leave the field accompanied by trainers and did not return.
It’s worth noting that Thornton had experienced time off last season due to a broken clavicle. His condition will be closely watched in the coming days.
Later in the practice session, promising rookie defensive lineman Keion White sustained a leg injury during team drills against the Packers. Following the incident, the second-round draft pick remained on the ground for about half a minute before slowly making his way to the sideline.
White spent some time sitting but eventually managed to stand alongside his teammates on the sideline. Although he didn’t rejoin the practice, there didn’t seem to be any apparent or severe signs of pain.
Finally, rookie center Jake Andrews had to exit practice after his leg got caught and rolled up on. He left the field limping and clearly in discomfort.
The Patriots and Packers are scheduled to face off on Saturday night for a preseason game at Lambeau Stadium. Whether White and Thornton will have recovered sufficiently to participate in the game remains uncertain.
