Surpassing Messi, Ronaldo becomes the first individual to reach 600 million Instagram followers

Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed 600 million Instagram followers, becoming the first person to do so on the social network operated by Meta Platforms.

Ronaldo is among the most popular individuals on social media.The Portuguese superstar surpassed 600 million Instagram followers in less than a year after reaching 500 million in November 2022.

 

In terms of social media, Ronaldo is prevailing over Messi.Messi has 482 million Instagram followers, the second highest on the platform, while Selena Gomez has 427 million.

Ronaldo hopes to inspire Al Nassr to win the silver trophy for the Saudi Pro League when the competition begins on August 14.CR7 aimed to win the Arab Club Championship on August 12 at 22:00 when Al Nassr faced Al Hilal in the final.

 

Having joined Al Nassr in January and enjoying an annual income of 200 million euros, CR7 is close to winning his first championship with this Saudi Arabian club.

Ronaldo has more social media followers than Messi, but Messi holds one more Guinness World Record than Ronaldo.

Guinness reported recently that Messi holds 42 world records, one more than Ronaldo.

Guinness recognizes a total of 81 world records held by Messi and Ronaldo in the sport of football.Nobody has ever broken ten Guinness World Records.Robert Lewandowski is third in records with nine, followed by Kylian Mbappe (5) and Neymar (4).

Guinness has recorded Messi’s most recent records as the Player who played the most World Cup matches with 26 and the Player with the most World Cup goals as a captain with 7.Both of these records were set in the 2022 World Cup final, when Messi scored twice to help Argentina tie 3-3 and then win 4-2 on penalties.

Messi was also recognized by Guinness as the first player to create a goal in all five World Cups during the 2022 tournament.This record was established on November 26, 2022, when Messi assisted Enzo Fernandez’s goal against Mexico at Lusail Stadium.

Guinness has recognized Ronaldo as the Most Followed Person on Instagram as of March 24, 2023, with more than 565 million followers.CR7 also set a new record today as Instagram’s Most Followed Man.Currently, there are over 598 million Instagram accounts that follow Ronaldo.

Ronaldo once posted a Guinness record on his personal social media account after he surpassed Ali Daei as the male player with the most national team goals.CR7 has scored 123 goals in 200 games for Portugal to date.
