Rihanna’s Bold Move: Inside the Ups and Downs of her Modern Hollywood Hills Villa

Everyone’s favourite Barbados-born lingerie and beauty magnate, Grammy-winning musical superstar, new mother, and aspiring real estate magnate now has one less responsibility on her plate. Rihanna has eventually sold her Hollywood Hills home after several years on and off the market, during which it was also available for rent.

First listed for a hair under $7.5 million in December 2018, and also floated for lease through the years at a pricey $35,000 per month, the Mediterranean-influenced property has ultimately transferred to an unnamed buyer in an off-market deal for just under $6.6 million — or about $250,000 less than she paid for the place five years ago, in the summer of 2017.

The contemporary stucco and terracotta-roof structure was constructed on spec and completed in 2015 on a nearly half-acre lot perched high above the bustling Sunset Strip. It is concealed behind gates and verdant vegetation and is situated on a nearly half-acre parcel. Inside, approximately 7,100 square feet of multi-level living space with high ceilings, arched doors, and a combination of hardwood and tile surfaces house six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

Steel-framed doors and windows throughout the residence provide expansive city lights and mountain views, as well as seamless indoor-outdoor environments; and opulent amenities include a movie theatre and billiard room, in addition to a detached two-car garage with an upper-level guesthouse housing a gym and bathroom.

In addition, the home features a formal dining room with a wood-beam ceiling, a living room with a tiled fireplace and a chandelier suspended from a ceiling medallion, and a vestibule with a striking staircase and golden chandeliers. In addition, there is a cosy family room flanked by a sleekly designed gourmet kitchen with top-tier appliances and a black marble L-shaped island with seating.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms with private bathrooms, including a penthouse-style master suite with a fireplace, distinct sitting area, private balcony, and luxurious bathroom with dual vanities and a soaking tub. A second guest suite is located on the lower level, and the grassy backyard features an impressive infinity pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a barbecue setup and several outdoor lounging and entertaining areas.

In addition to her recently sold home in the Hollywood Hills, the 34-year-old singer of “Umbrella” has accumulated an impressive collection of properties throughout Los Angeles. In addition to owning a $13 million Beverly Hills estate, she also owns the $10 million home next door. Her enduring primary residence continues to be a condo in The Century’s skyscraper worth multiple millions of dollars.
