Akşam reported on Wednesday that Trabzonspor has initiated efforts to sign Liverpool’s Thiago Alcântara.

The Süper Lig club aims to secure the 32-year-old’s services before the Turkish transfer window closes this Friday. According to Fanatik, they have provided updates on Trabzonspor’s strategy to acquire the Liverpool player.

Thiago was recently added to their list of targets, and the report states that they are preparing for a ‘final move’ to secure his signature. Trabzonspor views the former Barcelona midfielder as a valuable market opportunity, but they are aware that finalizing the deal may be challenging.

On Thursday, Trabzonspor will make efforts to ‘persuade’ the Spaniard to join their club, with the additional detail that they are attempting to secure him on a free transfer.

Thiago currently has one year remaining on his Liverpool contract, and Fanatik does not clarify whether Trabzonspor is seeking a free loan deal or a permanent transfer, which would only be possible if his contract at Anfield is terminated.

Thiago has been sidelined with a hip injury since April and is expected to return to action at the end of this month.
