Cristiano Ronaldo Unusually Presented with a Handwoven Carpet Prior to Al-Nassr’s Asian Champions League Match Against Persepolis FC
“Cristiano Ronaldo Receives Handwoven Carpet Gift Ahead of Al-Nassr’s Asian Champions League Clash with Persepolis”
As he made his move to the Saudi Pro League side following the termination of his contract with Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in the Middle East triggered an unprecedented frenzy. Often regarded as football’s biggest name, Ronaldo became the face of Al-Nassr.
This summer, several European football superstars, including Neymar, Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante, Sadio Mane, and Aymeric Laporte, followed Ronaldo’s path to the Saudi Pro League. The latter two also joined Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, who began their Asian Champions League campaign on Tuesday, coinciding with the kickoff of the Champions League group stages.
Before their match against the Iranian side, Persepolis, the 38-year-old football legend received a remarkable handwoven carpet as a gift upon his arrival in Iran. In photos, Ronaldo appeared genuinely impressed as he held up the exquisite carpet.
A substantial delegation welcomed Ronaldo to receive the gift, and the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star graciously accepted their kind gesture. He posed for photos with the group that greeted him.
Ronaldo’s popularity in Iran due to the Asian Champions League clash has reached such heights that Al Nassr had to cancel their training session because of the massive crowds. Footage shared on Al-Nassr’s social media platforms also revealed crowds of people swarming around their team bus, eager to catch a glimpse of their beloved footballer.
In the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo’s team currently holds the sixth position after six games, with four wins and two losses. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal, the team that acquired Neymar, Ruben Neves, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, sits atop the table, having secured five wins in their first six matches.
