Jets set to sign Trevor Siemian after Aaron Rodgers’ backup Zach Wilson struggled as QB again in latest defeat by the Patriots

In response to veteran quarterback Zach Wilson’s most recent troubles against the New England Patriots, the New York Jets are planning to sign Trevor Siemian to their practice squad.

Following Rodgers’ shocking departure from Green Bay in the summer, Wilson, 24, was set to start the 2023 season as the veteran quarterback’s backup.

However, Rodgers’ season-ending Achilles injury, which he sustained only moments into his eagerly anticipated debut, has forced the kid back into a starting role, and things aren’t going as expected.

Following Sunday’s defeat by the Patriots, Wilson was blasted by NFL Hall of Famer and Jets legend Joe Namath after enduring a torrid afternoon at MetLife Stadium. The team’s supporters are also losing patience with their starting quarterback.

Amid Wilson’s difficulties at quarterback, Siemian is due to visit New York on Tuesday with a view to re-signing for the franchise, according to the New York Post.
