The Warriors enjoyed a lead that reached as much as 16 points before the Rockets began to chip away at the deficit. The game took a turn when the Rockets surged ahead by two points midway through the fourth quarter after a basket by Jalen Green.
It was at this point that Stephen Curry took command, sinking four 3-pointers in less than two minutes, igniting a 15-2 run that propelled the Golden State to a 100-89 lead with approximately three minutes left in the game.
Additionally, Draymond Green made his season debut after missing the first two games due to a sprained left ankle. He admitted to feeling off in the first half but found his rhythm in the second half.
In an unexpected move, Chris Paul, a 12-time All-Star, came off the bench for the first time in his NBA career. Paul had previously started in all the games he played, a streak that dated back to the beginning of his career.
Despite the historic change, Paul embraced his new role and contributed eight points and seven assists in 27 minutes.
