“I think I put a little bit of pressure on her on the daily because of how my side of the closet looks,” jests the NBA superstar in an interview
Stephen Curry is opening up about his experience sharing a closet with his wife, Ayesha Curry.
“She has more space within that closet,” Steph, 35, told PEOPLE in a recent interview for his Rakuten Partnership which champions Black designers throughout the 2024 NBA season. “I’m probably more organized or more OCD about it being clean on my side.”
“That’s kind of the back-in-forth,” he continues. “I think I put a little bit of pressure on her on the daily because of how my side of the closet looks. But also she puts pressure on me by trying to keep up with her style because she pretty much brings it every single day.”
Stephen and Ayesha’s journey began at a church in North Carolina during their teenage years. They tied the knot in June 2011 and welcomed their first child, daughter Riley, just a year later. Their family continued to grow with the addition of their second daughter, Ryan, in 2015, and their son, Canon, in 2018.
In May 2021, Ayesha shared her experience of becoming a young mother for the first time and the challenges of balancing her career with raising her children. Eventually, she discovered her passion by launching a recipe blog, which has since blossomed into a culinary empire, featuring restaurants, cookbooks, and a television series.
On the other hand, Stephen, a nine-time NBA All-Star, has mastered the delicate art of balancing his demanding career with fatherhood. However, he humorously notes that his kids don’t seem overly impressed with his basketball prowess.
“I don’t think they care too much about how many times the ball goes in the basket,” he explained, adding that at home, “you’re just dad and that’s the best part about it.”
Back in July, the NBA star delighted his Instagram followers with a series of sunny vacation photos, marking the celebration of his 12th wedding anniversary with his wife.
The Instagram carousel showcased the beloved NBA couple in various vacation moments, from relaxing on boat decks to striking poses against picturesque beach backdrops. Yet, the most touching aspect of the post was the heartfelt public message from Steph, expressed in his caption, dedicated to Ayesha.
“My Woman. I Love you more than you know. I’m thankful for every experience we have shared together. The highs, the lows, the ways life has brought us closer together through it all,” the Golden State Warriors star said. “God continues to bless us. You have brought me so much joy and happiness from day 1.”
