Following their most exciting victory of the 2023–24 season, the Golden State Warriors are coming off a Stephen Curry game-winning basket that nearly didn’t happen because Draymond Green’s alleged offensive interference call was found to be lawful. The Cleveland Cavaliers are the Warriors’ next opponent on Sunday, but it’s likely that they won’t have everyone available. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Warriors star Klay Thompson has adductor soreness and is marked as questionable on the injury report.
After missing the first two seasons of the Warriors’ season due to various injuries, Klay Thompson has made an incredible return. Although he was recently added to the Warriors’ injury report, he hasn’t missed a game this year.
After five games played by the Warriors this season, Thompson had averaged 32.0 minutes per game. In addition to his average of 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 blocked shots a game, he was shooting 47.8 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from three points, and 100 percent from the free throw line.
A five-time All-Star, Thompson has helped the Warriors win four titles and, along with Stephen Curry, has established a potent tandem in the backcourt. In the 2011 NBA Draft, Thompson was selected by the Warriors with the eleventh overall choice.
Thompson’s Warriors contract is coming to an end this year. At any point during the regular season, he has the option to accept an extension; if they are unable to reach a consensus, he will be free to sign with any team after the season.
