Klay Thompson Can Make NBA History In Warriors-Kings Game

The Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson will play their second game of the season against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night (in Sacramento).

The Warriors just suffered a 108-104 defeat to the Phoenix Suns, and as a team, they only made 35.6% of their field goals.

Only six three-pointers separate Thompson from Jamal Crawford for tenth place on the all-time list of three-pointers made, giving him a chance to create NBA history on Friday.

While Crawford (retired) made 2,221 three-pointers in 20 NBA seasons, Thompson has made 2,216.

With a career three-point percentage of 41.6%, Thompson has established himself as one of the greatest three-point shooters of all time.

He made more than six three-pointers in eighteen games last year, so there’s a good chance he may pass Crawford before the end of the contest.

Thompson, a Washington State product, was selected with the eleventh overall choice in the 2011 NBA Draft and has played with Golden State his whole career.

Throughout the previous nine seasons, he has contributed to their four NBA Championship victories and six NBA Finals appearances.

In 717 regular season games, the five-time All-Star has averaged 19.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 45.5% from the field and 41.6% from three-point range.
