Klay Thompson continues trash-talking Dillon Brooks after Grizzlies beat Warriors

Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors was blunt in his assessment of Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks, who has emerged as the NBA’s No. 1 foe.

Thompson, 33, told The Commercial Appeal following Saturday’s loss that Brooks will be forgotten in a decade.

“I don’t care about Dillon Brooks,” Thompson declared. “I don’t think anyone will ever talk about Dillon Brooks again after he retires.” I guarantee it. It’s delicious right now, but wait ten years.”

Brooks, 27, has recently taken on a leadership role on Memphis as a result of Ja Morant’s suspension for behavioral troubles.

Brooks scored 18 points on Saturday, going 7-for-10 from the field and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.

Thompson’s postgame comments were not the only heated words exchanged following Golden State’s defeat.

Thompson challenged the opposition to a count of four while sitting on the bench in the final seconds of the game, recalling his NBA victories.

Brooks quickly clapped out at Thompson, telling him he stinks and that he’s getting into the champ’s head.

“He has four rings.” That was all he said. “It’s motivation for us,” Brooks explained. “We, too, want a ring.” We continue to go through the process of steps that we completed last year, learning from it all. It’s pleasant trash talk, but I just happen to own a lot of real estate in San Francisco.”
