Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Cam Reddish appears to be making progress in recovering from a lingering groin/adductor injury, as he is officially listed as probable to play in the upcoming road clash against the 2-15 Detroit Pistons this afternoon.
In a positive update, head coach Darvin Ham, as reported by Khobi Price of The Orange County Register, has shared encouraging news regarding Reddish’s recovery, indicating a strong likelihood of his return to the court for the Lakers.
Standing at 6’8″ and drafted with the No. 10 pick from Duke in the 2019 NBA draft, Reddish has experienced several team changes in his five professional seasons. After playing for the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, and Portland Trail Blazers, he joined the Lakers on a one-year, veteran’s minimum “prove it” deal, quickly earning an expanded role in Coach Ham’s lineups due to his defensive prowess.
Initially filling in for the absent Jarred Vanderbilt as a versatile power forward, Reddish eventually secured the starting two-guard position, surpassing incumbent Austin Reaves, a move orchestrated by Coach Ham in part to create separation from D’Angelo Russell.
