Despite having only two seasons under his belt in the NBA, the 25-year-old guard for the Los Angeles Lakers finds it surreal that a major company has approached him for a multi-million dollar shoe signature deal.

“I feel honestly blessed. If you would’ve told me I would have a signature shoe at 18, I’d have looked at you and called you a liar,” Reaves told Shams Charania.

This decision marks a historic moment for Austin Reaves, as he becomes the inaugural NBA player to secure a seven-figure annual contract with Rigorer this year.

The Chinese company describes the shoes this way on their web site: “This Rigorer basketball sniper 2 sneakers are with supercritical ejection technology and AIRSAC TAO technology, with nice rebound and anti-shock function, help players to improve performance. The sneakers vamp is with nylon yarn, durable and breathable… The basketball sneakers are a wise choice for you to wear on the court”.

Additionally, Rigorer plans to unveil Austin Reaves’ signature shoe in the upcoming summer, with anticipation for its on-court debut in the NBA during the 2023-24 season.

Initial glimpses of Reaves’ sneakers showcase a vibrant yellow and purple design. As the Los Angeles Lakers’ guard approaches restricted free agency in a few weeks, he is poised for a substantial salary increase. While the Lakers can offer a maximum contract of $52 million over four years, other teams may present slightly higher offers, leaving Reaves’ future uncertain, though remaining with the Lakers appears to be his priority.
