Stephen Curry listened intently to Festus Ezeli, a broadcaster for the Golden State Warriors and a former teammate, on Wednesday.
Before joining the Warriors as an NBC Sports Bay Area commentator in January of last year, Ezeli was a member of the squad that won their first title under their most recent dynasty in 2015. Before the Warriors’ 110-106 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, Ezeli was providing a live report on player Andrew Wiggins’ recovery from a thumb injury. Meanwhile, Curry stood behind Ezeli and paced briskly.
As Festus was discussing Andrew Wiggins’ comeback from a thumb injury, Curry entered the court and positioned himself behind the reporter, who was 6’11”. The eventual Hall of Famer was present, but FE was unaware of it.
Steph kept walking behind Ezeli and gazing at him while he addressed the camera.
After a while, Curry grinned and even co-signed Festus’s comment about Steph’s play.
Curry told Ezeli, “That message is approved.”
It was undoubtedly a memorable occasion for both players; keep in mind that Ezeli and Curry were teammates on the Warriors from 2012 to 2015 when they won the 2015 NBA Finals.
Festus spent his three years with Golden State averaging 4.3 rebounds and 1 block per game.
A teammate is someone you are usually with.
Later, Festus posted the amusing incident to social media, writing, “Love @stephencurry30 .”
Have you ever thought if conversing with someone in your ear is really distracting? I’ve included a video of my head performing the Macarena since the producer is chatting as I try to strike the note.”
