The Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry has formally entered the postseason.
He wasn’t even playing hoops a few weeks prior as he recovered from an injury that took him out of action during the end of the regular season.
But now that he’s back, he’s playing like the pro that he is.
Curry scored 24 points on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies to help the club win the first game of the series.
However, there was another statistic that was gaining a lot of interest.
Players are only shooting 20 of 55 (36%) while Curry is guarding them in the playoffs, according to StatMuse.
The only guard who can stop shots better than Curry is Jrue Holiday.
He is becoming more proficient in all areas of his game.
For the remaining playoff clubs, that is not good news.
Curry Wins
Curry is regarded as one of the all-time great point producers and the finest shooter in the league.
Curry is more than just a skilled shooter, though.
In addition, he possesses a high basketball IQ and is an excellent floor general.
It may be spectacular at times to see him read the court ahead of him and find his path to the basket.
He’s now demonstrating that he can occasionally be a defensive force as well.
In actuality, Curry shut down Grizzlies star Ja Morant in the closing seconds of Sunday’s contest.
With barely 19 seconds remaining, Curry knocked away Morant’s shot.
It’s obvious to everyone who follows the league that stopping Morant is no easy task.
When Draymond Green was dismissed early in the game, many Warriors fans were concerned that the game was lost.
Curry, being the champion that he is, was not having any of it.
