Audi America is preparing to say goodbye to this supercar line at event Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion which will take place at Laguna Seca, within the framework of Monterey Car Week, with the theme of looking back at the past and looking forward to the future.

Accordingly, the Audi R8 will perform the final laps on the historic racetrack, led by the RS e-tron GT – electric car< a i=2> the company’s high performance features.

If the RS e-tron GT is an image of the future, then the R8 is a historical mark. Audi said, the R8 coupe is a pure sports car, with up to 50% of the parts shared with the R8 GT3 LMS racing car.

To commemorate the final leg of a nearly 2-decade journey, each Audi R8 at Monterey Car Week will wear a “shirt” different, created by first-generation R8 exterior designer Frank Lamberty.

Audi hasn’t revealed much, just saying they were inspired by the R8’s original design philosophy of being a street racing car. On the roof of the car will be a drawing of the famous Laguna Seca racetrack in Monterey.

The 2023 R8 V10 high-performance coupe model has a starting price of 209,700 USD, using a 5.2L V10 engine, producing 602 horsepower and 559Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed S tronic transmission and transmission system. Full-time 4-wheel drive AWD.

All give the car the ability to accelerate from 0-96km/h in just 3.1 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of 332km/h.

The RWD rear-wheel drive version starts at $158,600, much cheaper than the AWD version. However, it has reduced capacity to 562 horsepower and 550Nm of torque. Therefore, the 0-96km/h acceleration time increases to 3.6 seconds and the maximum speed drops to 328km/h.

Currently, there are only a few 2023 Audi R8 cars on the market that are new – 37 cars.

In addition to saying goodbye to the R8 line, Audi will display a series of e-tron cars at the Legends of the Autobahn event, including models: Q4 Sportback e-tron, Q8 e-tron, Q8 Sportback e-tron, and RS e-tron GT.
