This Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta makes many car enthusiasts desire to own it because of its rarity and expensive value of up to over 5 million USD.
Before the electric vehicle era began, many brands launched popular hybrid models with superior performance and lower fuel consumption.
At the same time, some supercar and hypercar models also switched to using plug-in hybrid powertrains. Prominent among them is the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta model.
First launched in 2016, the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is essentially a convertible version of the LaFerrari Coupe. However, the Italian supercar company only produced 210 Aperta versions (290 fewer than the Coupe).
Of the 210 LaFerrari convertibles produced, only 200 were sold to customers, 1 for charity auction and 9 for display.
At the 2023 Montreal Auto Show that recently took place in Canada, VietNamNet reporters had the opportunity to observe this hypercar with a red exterior called Rosso Corsa – the typical paint color of the Italian prancing horse brand. Creating a highlight for the car is the white border extending on the bonnet and engine cover.
As a hypercar model, Ferrari has used its own design to optimize aerodynamics. The front of the car has large air cavities and main pillars that create a wing that divides the wind to both sides. The air vents are made seamlessly with the air vents on the bonnet and front wheel arches to better direct airflow to the rear when the vehicle is operating at high speed, while also cooling the front brake system.
The two sides of the car’s body no longer have simple ribs like a supercar, instead there are large ribs forming air ducts down to the engine compartment and rear of the car. The rear of the car is quite simple instead of having an aggressive style, including a symmetrically placed dual exhaust system and a small diffuser. The car still uses single taillights as Ferrari’s design language at that time.
This LaFerrari Aperta is equipped with a set of single 5-spoke black painted wheels with a wheel lock in the center – a detail rarely seen on Ferrari supercars. Inside are gray brake shackles that don’t stand out too much.
Some details on the car are made of carbon material to minimize the weight of the car such as the front splitter, rear bumper, rear diffuser, side skirts, windshield frame, engine cover, etc. etc…
The hood also uses the same material and can be opened/closed manually. This is shared by the Italian car company’s engineers that it helps the car reduce some of the increased weight when equipped with an electric roof opening/closing mechanism like some convertible supercars.
Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is equipped with a 6.3L V12 gasoline engine, producing 800 horsepower combined with a powerful 163 horsepower electric motor. The total capacity achieved on this hypercar model is up to 963 horsepower, 900 Nm of torque. Thanks to that, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
At the time of launch, each LaFerrari Aperta cost up to 2 million USD – about 300,000 USD more expensive than the LaFerrari Coupe. Due to the limited production of only 210 units worldwide, the car’s value is increasing. Currently, each of these convertible hypercars has a selling price of no less than 5 million USD.
