Experiencing his worst finishing streak since the beginning of the season, what did Stephen Curry say ?

Also in this series of losing matches by leader Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors experienced 3 consecutive defeats with 2 losses at home.

Will Warriors reboot roster in the New Year, trade struggling players?

In his last appearance on January 1, 2024 (Vietnam time), Stephen Curry had 9-25 FG (6-15 3PT) and along with his teammates suffered a 122-132 defeat against the Dallas Mavericks at home.

It seems that Golden State’s team cohesion problem has affected Curry’s personal sense of finishing. He just went through 3 consecutive games without reaching 40% FG with 9-25 FG against Dallas), 3-15 FG against Miami and 7-21 FG against defending champion Denver.

Because the remaining pillars and satellites played poorly, Golden State Warriors fans could only hope for Stephen Curry’s steady scoring hands.

But under great pressure from the opponent’s defense combined with little help from his teammates, the “chef” showed signs of frustration.

The camera caught the image of Curry sitting listlessly on the bench for a long time after the loss to the Miami Heat on December 30, where Steph had only 13 points and 3-15 FGs in more than 32 minutes of play.

Two days later, he had a 9-25 FG performance against the Dallas Mavericks, his third consecutive loss with his teammates.

Speaking more about the recent series of uninspired matches, Stephen Curry shared that he knows he needs to do better to improve his team’s performance.

“This is not the first time I have had to go through a series of cold matches like this. Over the course of a long season, you’re going to have a few times like this. But this is not my excuse ,” Curry said.

“I set very high standards for myself and I know I need to play better, finish more effectively and have a more consistent throwing arm. The team right now is in dire need of a stable source of points, both to boost the home team’s spirit and to put pressure on the opponents.

“In recent losses, we have remained competitive even though my personal stats are not good.

It makes me even more motivated to improve myself to keep the confidence and spirit of the whole team. As for me personally, it’s difficult to maintain explosive performance in all 82 matches of the Regular Season.

There are matches where your hands are cold and there are also matches where you will be hot-handed. The only thing I can maintain is to always play with fire, believe in my abilities and fight with my teammates ,” Stephen Curry added.

Stephen Curry’s total shooting performance in the last 3 consecutive losses is 19-61 FG, a success rate of only 31%. At the same time, the 3-point shooting rate is at 30.5% 3PT, a number that is not similar to Curry at all.

Despite going through a series of difficult days, including a 0-8 3PT match in mid-December, the Golden State Warriors star’s average score is still quite good. He scored more than 27 points with 4.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Fans have repeatedly witnessed Stephen Curry explode at times when he was under the most pressure, most likely this is no exception.

In front of the “chef” and his teammates are 5 matches to start the new year at home, there could be no better opportunity for the Golden State Warriors to regain the feeling of victory.

Five opponents take turns facing the home team at Chase Center including Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans.
