Stephen Curry played a crucial role in leading the Golden State Warriors to a 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night, snapping a three-game losing streak for the Warriors.
Curry contributed 36 points and was instrumental in the fourth quarter, scoring or assisting on 13 consecutive Warriors points during a crucial stretch. This performance helped Golden State secure their first win in three attempts on a season-high seven-game homestand.
Jonathan Kuminga added 19 points, and Klay Thompson scored 15 for the Warriors. For the Orlando Magic, Paolo Banchero recorded 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Franz Wagner added 25 points. Despite their efforts, the Magic suffered their second consecutive loss on a four-game road trip.
Curry made a significant impact in the third quarter, hitting two 3-pointers and assisting on two other baskets to give the Warriors a slight lead. Although the Magic managed to erase the advantage when Curry went to the bench for his second-half rest, he returned to dominate in the closing minutes of the game.
In the fourth quarter, Curry scored on a drive to put Golden State ahead 101-97 and followed it up with a step-back 3-pointer, extending the lead to 104-97. He continued to contribute with assists on consecutive baskets by Thompson and Kuminga, helping the Warriors secure the victory.
The first half concluded with a thrilling sequence, as Curry converted a four-point play with 3.5 seconds remaining, giving the Warriors a 55-52 lead. However, Gary Harris responded with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer for Orlando, tying the game.
Despite the absence of suspended forward Draymond Green, who has missed the last 10 games, the Warriors improved to 9-9 without him this season. Coach Steve Kerr mentioned that Green’s return date remains uncertain, and they have been giving him space during his suspension.
Unfortunately, the Warriors also lost Gary Payton II to a hamstring injury late in the third quarter, and he did not return to the game.
