LAKERS CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE, DROP FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME

The Los Angeles Lakers are facing a challenging stretch, losing their fourth consecutive game, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies. The team is grappling with a lack of confidence and an inability to secure victories. Austin Reaves, a core member of the Lakers, expressed the team’s frustration, acknowledging that confidence is low due to the ongoing losses.

“We’re losing,” Reaves said. “I don’t think anybody – we shouldn’t be in a high state of mind right now. We have to figure it out. We’re not winning games. But, individually, if you go down the line, look how we’re playing, obviously we’re not getting the job done but I don’t think you can point anything out, to what your point is, of someone being less confident or whatever it is. I feel like we’re still playing confident, just not winning games.”

Despite individual efforts not being glaringly poor, the Lakers are struggling to impact opponents, allowing high 3-point percentages. In the recent game against the Grizzlies, Memphis connected on 51% of their 3-point attempts, emphasizing the Lakers’ defensive shortcomings.

“We got to do better as players to affect them to miss shots,” Reaves said. “They shot 51% from three tonight. That’s not acceptable. We have to take it upon ourselves to do better.”

Reaves stressed the need for players to take responsibility for defensive lapses and work collectively to improve. The Lakers are currently facing challenges in executing gameplans and rotations, resulting in missed opportunities and late-game collapses.

As the Lakers seek solutions to break their losing streak, the team must address defensive vulnerabilities, regain confidence, and focus on finishing games stronger to secure much-needed victories.
