Golden State Warriors Jeered and Dominated by New Orleans Pelicans

In a disappointing turn of events for the Golden State Warriors, they suffered a second consecutive blowout loss, succumbing to the New Orleans Pelicans with a final score of 141-105. The chorus of boos from fans echoed through the arena as the Warriors concluded a challenging 2-5 homestand, leaving them with a 17-20 record and an array of roster challenges.

Facing the Pelicans, the Warriors found themselves trailing by 73 points in the first half, with New Orleans connecting on 13 three-pointers. This marked the third occasion in the last four games that Golden State allowed their opponents to score at least 70 points in a half. The Pelicans surged to a lead of as much as 41 points, mirroring the significant deficit handed to the Warriors by the Toronto Raptors in their previous game, where they faced a 27-point deficit.

The absence of key players has been acutely felt, with Chris Paul sidelined for at least three weeks due to hand surgery and Draymond Green working on conditioning following a three-week suspension. Star player Steph Curry struggled, managing only 15 points while shooting 4-of-13 from the field. A positive note for the Warriors came from Moses Moody, who contributed a team-high 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting, including four three-pointers.

Coach Steve Kerr made the strategic decision to clear the benches and rest his starters and regulars early in the fourth quarter, acknowledging the insurmountable lead held by the Pelicans.
