The NBA has unveiled the conclusive results of fan voting for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, with Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James securing the top spots once again. Antetokounmpo led the league with an impressive 4,309,630 total votes, while LeBron closely followed with 3,938,571 votes, marking the second-highest in the league.
Antetokounmpo, guiding the Bucks at the forefront of the Eastern Conference, has been instrumental in establishing Milwaukee as a powerhouse in the league. Averaging 31.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game with a shooting accuracy of 60.8 percent, the two-time MVP is set to make his eighth consecutive All-Star appearance in Indianapolis.
LeBron James, despite recently turning 39, continues to showcase his prowess, ranking among the league’s elite. With averages of 24.7 points, 7.6 assists, and 7.2 rebounds per game in 38 appearances, LeBron maintains his status as a formidable force on the court.
The final fan voting results also highlighted noteworthy changes, with Sacramento Kings’ Domantas Sabonis replacing Karl-Anthony Towns in the 10th position in the Western Conference frontcourt vote. In the Eastern Conference, Orlando Magic’s Paolo Banchero surpassed Julius Randle to claim the eighth spot in the frontcourt vote.
The list of potential first-time All-Stars includes Philadelphia 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey, Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, and Celtics’ Derrick White, leading in fan votes. Meanwhile, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama and Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren secured the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, in the Western Conference frontcourt vote.
Fan voting holds a significant weightage of 50 percent in determining All-Star starters, with the remaining 50 percent divided between NBA players and a media panel. Based on the final fan vote results, the likely starters from the Western Conference include Luka Doncic, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic. In the East, fan votes suggest Tyrese Haliburton, Trae Young, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid as the anticipated All-Star starters.
The fan voting concluded on Saturday, January 20, with the official All-Star Game starters set to be announced live during TNT’s NBA Tip-Off on Thursday, January 25. The All-Star reserves will follow suit a week later on Thursday, February 1.
