Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, is set to address the media on Thursday amidst an ongoing investigation into allegations of “inappropriate behavior” against him.
This appearance at the world champions’ car launch in Milton Keynes will mark his first public outing since the accusation emerged last week. Horner, 50, has vehemently denied the claim.
Despite the controversy surrounding him, Horner remains in his role as team principal and participated in a Red Bull test at Silverstone on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming Formula One season.
At the car launch event, Horner is expected to interact with the media, although it’s understood that questions related to the internal investigation will be off-limits due to legal considerations.
Last week, Horner underwent eight hours of questioning by a lawyer as part of the investigation conducted by Red Bull Racing’s parent company, Red Bull GmBH.
Efforts were made to resolve Horner’s situation before the car launch, but further rounds of questioning may be necessary as he seeks to establish his innocence.
Horner has been at the helm of Red Bull Racing since their entry into Formula One 19 years ago, making him the longest-serving team principal on the grid. Under his leadership, Red Bull has enjoyed considerable success, winning seven drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles. Their dominance was particularly evident last season, where they won 21 out of 22 races, with Max Verstappen achieving a record-breaking 10 consecutive victories.
