Steph Curry Confident Warriors Core Will Retire Together
Despite the Golden State Warriors’ challenges this season, Steph Curry remains steadfast in his belief that he, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green will retire as Warriors.
In an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Curry expressed his desire to continue competing at a high level alongside his longtime teammates and emphasized the importance of ending their careers on a high note.
“We want to not only end our career as a Warrior, we want to continue to compete at a very high level. But you want to end it the right way,” Curry stated, highlighting the trio’s motivation to leave a lasting legacy with the franchise.
Acknowledging the difficulties faced by the Warriors’ core this season, including Draymond Green’s absence and Klay Thompson’s adjustment to a new role, Curry remains optimistic about the team’s ability to rebound and maintain their competitive edge.
“We’ve been through a lot this year… I think it’s extremely possible to accomplish both,” Curry affirmed, underscoring the team’s resilience and determination to uphold their identity amidst adversity.
Despite their current standing in 10th place in the Western Conference, the Warriors remain in contention for a playoff berth, buoyed by a recent string of victories leading into the All-Star break.
Curry’s stellar performances, alongside contributions from Thompson and Green, have been pivotal for the team, despite individual challenges. While Thompson has faced a dip in scoring and Green has battled injuries, their collective efforts aim to propel the Warriors to postseason success.
With 29 games remaining in the season, the Warriors’ core is poised for a second-half resurgence, fueled by their unwavering commitment to each other and the franchise they’ve called home throughout their illustrious careers. As they strive for playoff contention, Curry, Thompson, and Green remain determined to author the next chapter of their storied tenure with the Golden State Warriors.
