Haas Unveils VF-24 Chassis for 2024 Formula 1 Season
Haas F1 Team has officially revealed its new VF-24 chassis for the upcoming 2024 Formula 1 season, marking the first car launch under the leadership of newly-appointed team principal Ayao Komatsu. The presentation comes ahead of the commencement of testing today, signaling the team’s commitment to improvement following a disappointing performance last year.
Komatsu, who succeeded Guenther Steiner as team principal, emphasized the team’s short-term objective of making incremental improvements to address its recent struggles. With a focus on fostering unity within the team and implementing effective upgrades on the car, Komatsu aims to steer Haas towards a more competitive position in the midfield.
Speaking about the VF-24 and the team’s goals for the season, Komatsu highlighted the importance of resolving tyre degradation issues that plagued Haas during the 2023 campaign. The team’s priority during testing will be to gather essential data to better understand the car’s performance and tire behavior, laying the groundwork for informed development decisions.
The VF-24, which was previously showcased in an online launch event, has already undergone filming days at Silverstone and the Bahrain International Circuit in preparation for testing. Kevin Magnussen will kick off testing for Haas, with Nico Hulkenberg taking over in the afternoon session, as the team evaluates the car’s performance and gathers valuable insights for the season ahead.
With a renewed focus on improvement and a commitment to addressing past shortcomings, Haas F1 Team enters the 2024 season with optimism and determination to climb the ranks in the highly competitive Formula 1 landscape.
