Hamilton Optimistic as Mercedes Prepares for 2024 F1 Season

As the countdown to the 2024 Formula 1 season opener intensifies, Lewis Hamilton, embarking on his final campaign with Mercedes, has expressed optimism about the team’s preparations, describing them as “massively encouraging.”

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, is poised to commence his 12th and final season with Mercedes before his much-discussed move to Ferrari next year. Despite not clinching a race victory since 2021, Hamilton is determined to bid farewell to Mercedes on a high note.

Mercedes has unveiled a completely redesigned car for the 2024 season, implementing significant changes from its predecessor. While acknowledging that Mercedes may trail behind Red Bull and potentially Ferrari in the F1 hierarchy initially, Hamilton believes the team is primed to mount a formidable challenge as the season progresses.

Reflecting on the pre-season testing in Bahrain, Hamilton commended the collective effort of the team, both trackside and at the factory, emphasizing the dedication and unity among the staff. He remarked, “The focus, determination, and communication is the best I’ve ever seen.”

His teammate, George Russell, echoed Hamilton’s sentiment, noting that the new W15 car is “easier to drive.”

Despite the positive signs, Hamilton remains aware of the work that lies ahead. He acknowledges that Mercedes is not yet where they aspire to be but views the current platform as a solid foundation for further development.

Hamilton expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, affirming the team’s commitment to analyze the data meticulously from the testing phase and make necessary adjustments.
