Alleged Leaked Texts and Photos Rock Red Bull Amidst Horner’s Misconduct Clearance
In a startling turn of events, a series of purported text messages and images allegedly sent by Christian Horner, the Red Bull chief, have surfaced merely 24 hours after he was absolved of any misconduct following an internal investigation.
The saga unfolded when allegations of inappropriate conduct by Horner, 50, surfaced earlier this month, prompting intense scrutiny. Red Bull concluded its internal inquiry earlier this week, asserting on Wednesday that Horner had been exonerated from any wrongdoing.
However, a barrage of purported private messages, reportedly dispatched to an unidentified recipient, has now been disseminated to journalists, F1 team principals, and Liberty Media management from an anonymous email account. The alleged correspondences and images have been reviewed by Daily Star Sport.
This revelation emerges just as Horner’s wife, Geri Halliwell, of Spice Girls fame, was poised to join him in Bahrain ahead of the inaugural Grand Prix of the 2024 F1 season this weekend.
Horner has vehemently refuted the accusations leveled against him. A source close to Geri described her as a stalwart supporter throughout the three-week ordeal, acknowledging the tumultuous nature of recent weeks for the family.
“This has been weeks of hell for Christian and his family. As he has said all along, these claims are ‘nuts’,” the source stated, according to the Sun. “An exhaustive investigation has been carried out, and the allegations have proven to be nonsense. Geri has been rock solid behind Christian—and his whole family is relieved and elated that it’s over.”
Addressing the press on Wednesday, Horner expressed his satisfaction that the investigation had concluded, allowing him to refocus on his duties.
“I’m just pleased that the process is over, I can’t comment about it,” he remarked. “The focus is very much now on the Grand Prix and the season ahead and trying to defend both of our titles. I’m pleased to be here in Bahrain and with the team, focused on the season ahead. The team has never been stronger.”
In a statement announcing the outcome of their internal inquiry, Red Bull affirmed, “We can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous, and impartial.”
“The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”
Efforts to reach Horner and Red Bull for comment remain ongoing.
