Unexpectedly, Steph Curry participated in a back-to-back.
Despite suffering a knee injury on Friday night against the Toronto Raptors, Steph Curry was still able to play on Sunday against the Boston Celtics. While some felt the Warriors shouldn’t have made the choice, Curry thinks it was the right one.
Following the Boston Celtics’ utter destruction of the Warriors on Sunday, Steph Curry discussed the rationale behind playing in the back-to-back. He made it clear that, even after suffering a knock against the Raptors, there were no reservations about letting him play.Curry answered, “No.” “All we wanted to be sure of was that it didn’t swell any farther than it had. When I tried to test it this morning to see if I could not feel any pain when I was outside, it went as follows: when I woke up, it was in a decent spot. Thus, based only on how it felt, playing was a wise choice.”
The Warriors didn’t gain much from Steph Curry’s decision to play despite an injury on Sunday against the Celtics. Steph Curry just played 16 minutes in a game that the Warriors lost by 52 points. Curry nevertheless warmed up for more than 16 minutes as if he were in a regular game.”It still feels like a game because you have to do your preparation stuff,” Curry stated. “It was physical, even for the 16 or 17 minutes I played. We have two days off before another back-to-back, so you’re trying to find any kind of life out there, so you better make the most of that time.”
There is a real possibility that the Golden State Warriors will advance past the play-in round. But things don’t get any easier for them because the Milwaukee Bucks are up next.
