Nigeria football star Asisat Oshoala was courtside to witness the Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA.
Accompanied by her teammate Deyna Castellanos, Oshoala, who recently joined American club Bay FC, had the opportunity to meet Warriors superstar Stephen Curry after the game and exchange jerseys.
The Warriors, who suffered a humiliating 52-point defeat against the Boston Celtics a few days earlier, bounced back to beat the 2021 NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, with a score of 125-90. Stephen Curry led the charge with 29 points. This win improved the Warriors’ record to 33-28, placing them ninth in the Western Conference standings.
On the other hand, the Bucks’ six-game winning streak came to an end, leaving them second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-22 as the 2023/24 NBA season approaches its final stretch.
After the game, Asisat Oshoala, Deyna Castellanos, and Stephen Curry exchanged pleasantries on the court. Curry presented the two soccer stars with signed Warriors jerseys, and in return, they gave him jerseys from their team, Bay FC.
Asisat Oshoala recently joined Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after spending five successful years with Barcelona. She signed a deal with Bay FC until 2026, and the team is preparing for its inaugural season in the NWSL, located in San Jose, California, close to the Golden State Warriors’ NBA franchise.
Prior to her move, Barcelona Femeni bid farewell to Oshoala in an emotional video shared on social media. The players expressed their good wishes as she departed from the club, highlighting her impact during her time with Barcelona.
