Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have been colleagues for ten years. Each has received nine NBA All-Star honors, and the other has been an indispensable member of the Golden State Warriors’ championship nucleus.
Green made an unexpected debut on Thompson’s vessel in November of last year. Green elaborated on his initial visit to the location during a recent appearance on the “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero” podcast. Green described the vessel as a vital component of a rescue mission.
Midway through November, Green was stranded on the San Francisco–Oakland Bay when protesters compelled the closure of the Bay Bridge, which frequently handles some of the region’s most heavy vehicle traffic.
Green had recently returned to the Oakland area subsequent to his five-game suspension resulting from his involvement in a physical altercation with Rudy Gobert, the center of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The bridge that Green was using to reach the practice facility of the Warriors was closed off because of pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the vicinity.
“A demonstration took place atop the Bay Bridge,” Green stated.
Thompson, according to Green, arrived at the location in his canoe after several earlier attempts to traverse the bridge failed.
“Klay arrived in Jack London Square, Oakland, on his boat across the water to pick me up,” Green explained as the hosts started to chuckle. “[Team operations vice president] Eric Housen attempted to convince the police to escort me through.” “Nothing could succeed; communication was impossible.”
Reen further stated that a video recording had captured the entire ordeal. It is worth mentioning that Thompson was thought to have been the owner of the vessel for approximately four years before Green boarded it on that infamous day.
