Ja Morant: “Who wouldn’t want to dunk on LeBron’s head?”

Since joining  the NBA , Ja Morant has brought as much excitement to the audience as his more highly regarded friend Zion Williamson. With outstanding resilience and daring spirit,  Morant  has turned many veteran players into the basis for his masterpiece dunks. At the age of 22, the Grizzlies defender is constantly looking for challenges and has set an impossible goal.

Ja Morant did not hesitate to share that he really wanted to dunk on  LeBron James’ head . Although many players have become victims of Ja’s high flying moves, this defender still poses a huge challenge for himself. Even though LeBron is getting older and Ja Morant is in his prime, this would still be a great achievement if Morant could pull it off in a game.

Ja Morant wishes to dunk on LeBron James’ head, a goal that few NBA stars have ever accomplished.

The young leader of the Grizzlies had an interview with Bleacher Report. When asked which player he wanted to dunk on, Ja Morant did not hesitate to name LeBron James. The 22-year-old defender said that if he can realize the above goal, he will put the poster all over the walls at home, even on the door.

One of the things that inspired Ja Morant’s intention came from Jayson Tatum’s beautiful dunk on LeBron James’ head. Having a moment like that would definitely make Ja Morant extremely excited. The Grizzlies player believes that he will definitely be given a technical foul if that happens, because he will celebrate and scream continuously right after “dethroning” the “king”.

Ja Morant said he is a fan of LeBron, but Ja really wants to do it for his idol. “Who doesn’t want to dunk on LeBron’s head?”, Morant wondered. LeBron James is a top great player in the NBA, and overcoming the shadow of this legend, even for just a moment, will definitely be a lifelong memory for any player.

Jayson Tatum’s heroic dunk was the inspiration for Ja Morant’s challenge

Besides, Ja Morant also said he would only participate in the Slam Dunk contest if he was paid $1 million. Morant believes that fans and Slam Dunk judges no longer appreciate beautiful dunks like before. Highly difficult dunks have appeared with increasing frequency in the NBA, so Morant feels the audience has become “stunned” to this level of skill.

In addition, the judges at the Slam Dunk contest inappropriately evaluated the slam dunks, which was another reason why Ja refused to participate. According to Grizzlies players, extremely difficult dunks are made easily because of the skill of the performer, but they are scored low because the judges believe this is an easy move. That’s why if no one spends $1 million to convince, Ja Morant will just “sit back and watch and send critical tweets”.

Zach LaVine, Aaron Gordon, Derrick Jones Jr. and Zion Williamson will be names capable of causing difficulties for Ja Morant in the Slam Dunk contest, in this player’s opinion. Even though he is a young dunker,  the best rookie in NBA 2020  has set many big goals for himself and hopes that his enthusiasm will be maintained.
