A juvenile fan was given a message of encouragement by Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, who is motivated by the NBA superstar and his team.
Jade Rogers, who has cerebral palsy and is a Grizzlies fan, is so inspired by the “grit and grind” mentality of Morant, 22, and his youthful team that she is incorporating it into her own physical therapy.
Rogers stated, “I informed my mother that this is the work in the dark that @JaMorant discusses,” as reported by Bleacher Report via Twitter. Rogers draws inspiration from the tenacious mindset of her beloved NBA team when she experiences difficulty during her physical therapy sessions.
In an interview with the local news outlet WREG Memphis, she elaborated, “Like the Grizzlies, I try to maintain a positive attitude despite adversity and persevere through the mountain.”
As reported by the publication, Rogers recently completed 15 step-ups and 15 seconds of standing on her own during physical therapy in preparation for the day when she hopes to be able to walk.
After Bleacher Report marked Morant in Rogers’ therapy video, the NBA star proceeded to distribute the clip to his social media following. “Jade, continue on…I’m with you,” Morant wrote.
After Rogers’ touching reaction to his tweet, Morant encouraged his followers to uplift others in their communities.
“Recognize that every interaction you have is an opportunity to make positive impacts on others,” Morant wrote on Twitter shortly after his message to Rogers.
