Despite an early block from Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, Jokic showcased his scoring prowess with 31 points on an impressive 13-of-19 shooting performance, along with contributing seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocks.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich lauded Jokic’s exceptional skills, describing him as “amazing” and “fantastic.” Jamal Murray added to Denver’s offensive firepower with 15 points and 10 assists, contributing to the Nuggets’ fifth consecutive win and their 11th victory in 12 games, maintaining their position atop the competitive Western Conference standings.

San Antonio put up a valiant effort, with Jeremy Sochan leading the charge with 19 points, supported by Devin Vassell and Wembanyama, who each contributed 17 points. Despite their best efforts, the Spurs suffered their third consecutive loss.

The game, played in Austin as part of the Spurs’ initiative to broaden their fan base, drew a record crowd of 16,223 at the Moody Center, setting an attendance record for a sporting event at the venue.

Although Nuggets coach Michael Malone expressed concerns about the unconventional setting, his team quickly adapted and delivered an impressive performance. Denver’s offensive efficiency, shooting 55% from the field, coupled with their disruptive defense, forced 16 turnovers and generated 27 points.
