The day that Ja Morant’s suspension ends, the Memphis Grizzlies guard will release his Christmas-themed sneakers.
Basketball fans haven’t seen point guard Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies play in a very long time. The NBA All-Star will play again on December 19 on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans, having served a 25-game suspension.
Nike is the team most eager to see Morant return to the court, aside from the Grizzlies. When the Nike Ja 1 was introduced earlier this year, Morant became the brand’s first-ever Gen-Z signature athlete.
By coincidence, the debut of Morant’s new Christmas-themed sneakers falls exactly on the same day as his first game back. All the information sportsmen and fans need to know about the Nike Ja 1 “Xmas” basketball sneakers is provided here.
At 10:00 a.m. EST, the Nike Ja 1 “Xmas” will go on sale on the Nike website, the Nike SNKRS app, and at a few select retailers. Adult sizes of the $130 performance basketball shoes are sure to sell out quickly. Since Morant unveiled the same colorway during a game against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day last year, fans have been clamoring for the sneakers.
The wording “Climb up the chimney” has been covered with a patch on the left heal’s back, which is the sole difference. Like with previous colorways, Nike most likely intended for the rhetoric on the sneakers to be less provocative.
The hue “infuses Canyon Purple with hints of hazy Fuschia Dream, symbolizing [Morant’s] emergence from the shadowy blacktops to the gleaming hardwoods of the NBA,” according to Nike’s product description. To infuse some holiday cheer, the insole features pops of red and green paired with freshly drawn snow-capped chimney art.”
A popular favorite in the basketball community, Morant’s honest nature surpasses his acrobatic playstyle. Hopefully, this season we see more of Morant and his recognizable sneakers on the court. For all of the latest sports footwear news, visit FanNationKicks.com.
