Reports suggest that retail giant Walmart is contemplating pulling Red Bull energy drinks from its shelves amidst ongoing controversy surrounding Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing. 

The situation arose after Horner faced allegations of inappropriate behavior from an employee, which he vehemently denied. An internal investigation conducted by Red Bull cleared Horner of any wrongdoing, leading to the suspension of the accuser.

Red Bull released a statement affirming the dismissal of the grievance and expressing confidence in the fairness and impartiality of the investigation. However, the accuser has opted to escalate the matter by submitting a complaint to the FIA Ethics Committee.

“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed,” a statement read. “The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.”

According to German outlet Bild, Walmart is considering this action due to the sensitivity of American consumers regarding such issues.

This development comes at a challenging time for Red Bull Racing, with speculation swirling around the future of star driver Max Verstappen. 

Reports suggest that Verstappen is contemplating leaving the team, possibly eyeing a move to Mercedes amid uncertainty about his contract, which runs until 2028.

In the event of Verstappen’s departure, Red Bull reportedly has its sights set on Williams’ Alex Albon as a potential replacement.
