Morant announced on social media that his parents and younger sister are his new neighbors.
In the video, Morant shows off his property, walks down the street, and says, “Hey, Pops. “We’re neighbors now.”
According to the Shelby County Register of Deeds, the Mountain Brook Cove Land Trust #2 paid $3.05 million for the home. The Memphis Business Journal reports that trust is linked to Ja Morant.
In 2019, the Mountain Brook Cove Land Trust paid $1.334 for the adjacent land.
According to property records, Morant’s approximately 14,000-square-foot, 7-bedroom mansion was purchased by his former colleague Kyle Anderson for $2.31 million in 2018.
Lorenzen Wright had owned the house as well. Wright paid $430,000 for the property in 2006.
Morant’s multimillion-dollar real estate purchase is unsurprising. After learning of Morant’s new agreement with the Grizzlies, he tweeted, “Memphis is my home.”
