Ayesha Curry, the 34-year-old actress, and her husband, Stephen Curry, are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their fourth child. While the Curry family expands, it seems that their eldest daughter, 11-year-old Riley, may follow in her mother’s footsteps and venture into the world of acting.
Speaking to ET’s Rachel Smith at the premiere of her latest Netflix film, “Irish Wish,” Ayesha shared her pride in Riley’s burgeoning talent. “My kids definitely have the arts bug. My daughter actually — I’m really proud of her,” Ayesha expressed. “She’s a star in her school’s Cats play, so I’m very excited. She’s playing Grizabella, and I’m just so proud.”
Ayesha herself embarked on an acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in various television shows such as “Hannah Montana,” “The Bold Type,” “Ballers,” and “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” After marrying Steph in 2011 and welcoming Riley, Ryan (8), and Canon (5), Ayesha took a hiatus from acting. Currently pregnant with their fourth child, she is excited about her family’s newest addition.
Regarding the upcoming arrival, Ayesha shared, “Oh, everybody’s great, like everybody has a different dynamic, so that’s been really special. But they can’t wait.”
In her latest film, Ayesha portrays the best friend of Lindsay Lohan’s character, who makes a wish for a drastic change in her luck in love. Reflecting on her blessings, Ayesha emphasized the joy her children bring her. “Oh my gosh, I’d have to say all of my beautiful babies like healthy, happy babies. What more could you ask for? So we’re just grateful for that,” she expressed.
Professionally, Ayesha feels fortunate for the opportunity her new film has provided. Additionally, her friendship with Lohan has been a source of support and encouragement, with Lohan even naming Ayesha and Steph as the godparents to her son, Luai. “Our friendship has been such a blessing.
It’s like, you know, you don’t think you’re gonna find those friendships later on in life, in your adulthood and when it happens, it’s just so magical,” Ayesha praised. “And I’ve been grateful to have her to bounce off of, and she’s been so encouraging of me stepping back into this part of my career. So it’s been great.”
