NBA source Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that the Golden State Warriors are not interested in dealing Draymond Green or Klay Thompson.
Andrew Wiggins and/or Chris Paul would be traded if the Warriors made a trade.
According to ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst, “the Golden State Warriors have no interest in moving Draymond Green or Klay Thompson before the trade deadline.” “In an interview with “SportsCenter,” Windhorst mentioned that the Warriors might consider dealing Andrew Wiggins, who has struggled this season, or Chris Paul, whose contract is about to expire.”
The Warriors’ record for the season is 20–24. According to the Western Conference standings, they are in 12th position. Golden State wouldn’t even be in the play-in tournament if the season ended today.
Thompson, who will be an unrestricted free agency this summer, is shooting 42.1% from the field, 38.5% from outside the arc, and 91.0% from the free-throw line this season while dishing out 17.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks.
In the meantime, Green is shooting 48.5% from the field, 41.8% from beyond the arc, and 80.5% from the foul line while dishing out 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks on average. In the previous offseason, he inked a $100 million, four-year contract with the Warriors.
During the Thompson, Green, and Stephen Curry era, the Warriors have won four titles. One day, the team will retire the numbers of all three players. The Warriors still want both winners to play their entire careers in Golden State because Curry is tight with them, even though Thompson and Green are no longer All-Stars.
NBA expert Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports that Thompson will likely be re-signed by the Warriors this summer.
