Tsunoda, representing Red Bull Racing, attended the event and was spotted on the grid engaging in conversation with his former teammate Nyck de Vries.

The race, which saw Maximilian Günther clinch victory for Maserati, provided an opportunity for Tsunoda to reconnect with de Vries, with whom he shared a team at the Red Bull sister outfit for the initial 10 rounds of the 2023 season.

De Vries, currently driving for Mahindra Racing, had showcased impressive qualifying performances during the early stages of last season, outperforming even Daniel Ricciardo, who replaced him in the team later on.

Despite de Vries’ unfortunate retirement from the race, the encounter on the grid served as a moment of camaraderie and reminiscence between the two drivers, highlighting the bond forged during their time as teammates.

As Tsunoda prepares to compete in his home Grand Prix, his presence at the Tokyo E-Prix reflects his engagement with the motorsport community and his continued support for the growth of racing in Japan.
