Every time Draymond Green is ejected by the referee, both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson shake their heads in dissatisfaction. Golden State Warriors fans are fed up with the situation because many of the ejections are completely avoidable.
However, Draymond Green continues to get into fights with opponents, and there is little anyone can do save Draymond himself. Green recently invited Klay on his podcast to discuss anything they could. However, ‘Money’ wanted to be publicly chastised by his teammate. His attempts failed because Klay revealed why he and Stephen Curry shook their heads every time Drayon Green was removed.
Klay explained, “When you’re not out there, it’s like a piece of us is missing. And Steph [Curry] and I are incredibly nice guys, maybe a little too nice. No, and we will never be able to be ourselves and have the same freedom on the court without you. So when you’re not out there, it’s like a massive flaw in the armor. And I know the opposing team is relieved you’re not out there. It hurts, but we’ve been through so many wars. We reached the top of the mountain and then descended. We had to climb back and get there again. And now we have another legitimate chance at this. So it hurts. It may be disheartening in the time, but it will never overshadow what lies ahead of us or what we have accomplished. So, at the end of the day, we only need you.
Perhaps Draymond Green expected a different response from Klay Thompson, but he was certainly not prepared for it. Rather than criticizing him for the repeated ejections, Thompson took a more helpful approach to the issue. Perhaps that will help Green make better decisions in the heat of the moment. Thompson provided a wonderful comment that exactly illustrates the type of teammate he is. Hard and defensive players such as Draymond Green and Dennis Rodman are usually required on winning teams. Klay is well aware of this, which is why he loves Draymobd’s skills above all else.
