Jokic Embraces ‘Despicable Me’ Fan Comparisons Ahead of Nuggets Game

When Nikola Jokic, the standout player for the Denver Nuggets, arrived at Ball Arena on Saturday for his game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he seemed to fully embrace previous fan comparisons to a character from the hit movie series “Despicable Me.”

“Are you going to steal the moon or play hoops?” The Nuggets’ official account shared content on X, which was once Twitter.

In a teaser for the upcoming “Despicable Me 4,” the two-time regular season MVP and current NBA Championship MVP also made an appearance. He talks about how the Minions won’t leave him alone when the comparisons began.

In the advertisement, which was uploaded to the official NBA account on X, Jokic told the Minions, “I’m not your boss.”

Jokic played against the Lakers despite rumors that he was going to steal the moon. He scored an incredible 32 points against the squad, which helped the Nuggets win their first postseason game 114-103.

Monday at Ball Arena will see Denver take on the Lakers in the second game of the series. 8 p.m. is tip-off time.
