After Kay’La, the estranged wife of NBA player Damian Lillard, made fun of the rapper GloRilla for her recent DUI arrest, the rapper took offense.
Two months after expressing interest in the Bucks guard, Kay’La gave the 24-year-old Tomorrow 2 hitmaker the nickname “GloLillard” in a recent Instagram post.
When GloRilla’s DUI mugshot was first posted, Kay’La wrote ‘Free GloLillard’ beneath it, along with an emoticon of a laughing woman sobbing and the hashtag ‘#sisterwife’ with a shrugging face.
And GloRilla posted a video of herself wearing a jersey with the name “GloLillard” on the back and Damian’s number “0” below on Instagram Stories on Saturday night.
She showed off her attire in a few clips, seemingly unaffected by the nickname. She accessorized the ensemble with large silver hoops and orange pants.
GloRilla played it cool when questioned about her advances on Damian during All-Star weekend earlier this month.
The Bucks guard and “Yeah Glo!” artist posed for a picture before the big game in Indianapolis in February. The female emcee captioned the image on social media, saying, “I want him.”
When questioned about the situation on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, GloRilla, however, remained more silent.
“You shot with the most Steph Curry shot, did it go in?” Sharpe asked, alluding to her widespread courtship of the Milwaukee star. stated Sharpe.
The shot from half court? “The day is going to end at the end,” she replied.
GloRilla had posted a picture of the two in Indianapolis along with the caption, “Who n**** dis is?” Since I desire him to #GetEmGlo.
‘Whoever she is can’t whoop me so I really dgaf,’ she wrote later in a letter.
When questioned about the circumstances later, Lillard told TMZ, “no comment,” but he also said, “Shout out to GloRilla, man.”
GloRilla reiterated her “At the end of the day, the day gon’ end” statement on Club Shay Shay, which prompted Sharpe to respond once more.
“And it went in,” he joked, making the rapper and himself laugh.
Shortly after being traded from the Blazers to the Bucks in October, Lillard filed for divorce from his wife Kay’La.
After meeting at Weber State University, the couple got married in September of 2021.
According to a divorce document seen by the Willamette Week, Kay’La moved into a $2.7 million house in December 2022, while Lillard continued to live in the $7.7 million mansion owned by the couple.
Together, they have three children: three-year-old twins, Kali and Kalii, and five-year-old son Damian Jr.
GloRilla’s post was made subsequent to the release of video showing her DUI arrest.
The rapper, real name Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was taken into custody early on Tuesday in Suwanee, Georgia on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and consuming or carrying an open container of alcohol.
The star was seen undergoing multiple sobriety tests in the approximately five-minute video that TMZ was able to obtain. At one point, her breast was visible through her top, prompting a police officer to cover it up.
GloRilla, a native of Memphis, had just said, “I’m cool,” and “I’m okay,” in response to inquiries about whether or not she had been drinking.
She gave a vague response when the policeman questioned her, but he didn’t get any further information because she also claimed to have smelled marijuana on top of alcohol.
The celebrity also acknowledged that there was a gun in the backseat of the car.
‘Do you know who I am?’ GloRilla asks at one point, trying to play the celebrity card.
The officer responds, “Tell me more.”
The On Wat U On hitmaker, however, becomes nervous and chooses not to reveal her stage name.
‘No because you’re still going to pick on me,’ GloRilla tells the police officer.
